PenguiCon in Brief
The quick-and-dirty rundown of my PenguiCon, from my perspective:

1 - The Open Source Boob Project = Very Yes (I'm too lazy to link, but check out the Ferrett's LJ for details)
2 - After (or during?) a long conversation regarding poor media portrayals of AI and the nature of civilization/The Robot Wars, Aaron Diaz and I veered into a happy discussion of the Pros and Cons of living in South Alabama. It was a completely random and wonderful diversion.
3 - There is a subtle distinction between Southern Style Geeking Out and NorthEastern Geeking Out. And the lovely and talented Jennie Breeden is a master of the former. It was good to relax back into the familiar. Plus, I got to meet freakin' Jennie Breeden!
4 - Don't wait until Sunday to go to shop the dealer room. Because 40 million other con goers are doing the same thing for their own reasons, whatever they may be. Regardless, you will be arses and elbows in there and not even be able to get to the tables.
5 - When a 3rd year Medical Student is presenting a panel on "How to Kill a Character" and the there is a large scrawl on the sign saying "There will be BLOOD!!!"... don't sit in the front row.

That's the short version. Perhaps more details to come. Perhaps not

*bursts into laughter* Did you get sprayed??

I was very glad to see you and babymonkey. I hope you two were comfortable in the environment all weekend. Next time, we shall draw you out from your quietness! I'm also glad that I and my ever-present bottle of water could help her.

I got one little spot on my face when Cat demonstrated what Arterial spray WASN'T, but actually much less than I expected.

And it was awesome seeing you... again? Because I think I have met you before and this was more of a re-introduction. I have vague memories of an SJ house concert where you were involved... but I have a tendancy to confuse people from LJ that I've only met once before...

Anyway, the environment was fine. It's not our day-to-day, but - well - that's part of the whole con thing. Besides, when Ferret, Gini, Dmitri and Cat top your List o' Friends (not to be confused with your Friend's List), these things happen. It wasn't THAT far out of the ordinary for us. :-D

Jennie is teh awesome!!

And it was good to see you again, man. I honestly didn't recognize you at first. This is why I'm glad there are nametags at cons. :-)

WORTH EVERY SPLASH!!! (and there was only the one... the comment about that one had more to do with the sudden "Wait... this isn't a good idea" moment when I first sat down).

Seriously, most amazing Panel all weekend, and Cherie Preist was giving you some fierce competition.

In other news, mind if I be-friend your journal?

It was awesome meeting you guys! You defintely added to the weekend. And you're outfit on Saturday Night was alot closer to what I was originally planning to wear, if babymonkey hadn't done the shopping for me. :-D

As for the panel, I'm 99% certain that I'm the only one who got any splash at all, and I only got one little dot of my face from... erm.. ricochet. You know... when that thing happened that we don't talk about because you never know when Con or Hotel staff might be reading your LJ.
